Welcome to Jose Karlo's Coffee, a cherished gem nestled at 26 Juan Luna St, Tacloban City, 6500 Leyte, Philippines. This quaint café stands as a testament to resilience, having withstood the test of time and the fierce calamities that have struck the area. With a rich history spanning almost two decades, it invites you not just to enjoy a cup of coffee but to partake in a warm community experience.

As you step into Jose Karlo's Coffee, you are greeted by an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy home. The charming décor, featuring vintage aesthetics and soft, dim lighting, creates an intimate setting perfect for meetings, casual gatherings, or even a romantic date. Here, friendships are fostered over steaming cups of coffee, and stories are shared amidst the hum of happy conversations.

The menu boasts a delightful array of beverages and snacks that have been lovingly crafted to please your palate, with highlights including the rich and aromatic brewed coffee, and delectable cakes that pair beautifully with each sip. However, the true magic lies in the experience; many customers describe their time here as enchanting, filled with treasured memories and laughter. Emmanuel Dato recalls his early adventures in this café almost 20 years ago, noting its enduring charm and inviting staff who always greet you with warm smiles and exceptional service.

While the café enjoys a devoted local following, it continues to draw newcomers eager to find out what makes Jose Karlo's so special. Ronel Boholano reflects on the bond shared over cups of coffee and the nostalgia it evokes. Despite the influx of new coffee shops, Jose Karlo's remains a beloved choice among locals and visitors alike.

However, like any popular spot, it has had its moments of constructive feedback. Some patrons have suggested small changes, such as serving hot coffee in proper mugs rather than glass cups. Yet, these concerns do little to overshadow the overwhelmingly positive experiences. Visitors often find themselves captivated by the ambiance and comfort, making it a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.

At Jose Karlo's Coffee, each visit promises more than just great coffee; it’s about building connections, sharing moments, and indulging in delightful treats. The staff is eager to make your visit extraordinary, ensuring you leave with a smile and a craving for more. My first ever coffeeshop experience is in this place almost 20 years ago. I love this place. Still standing tall and strong after the typhoon haiyan. Their coffee and cakes are still Delicious and affordable. They still have the hip and quaint designs. The staff are very friendly and full of smiles. Best coffeeshop in tacloban

The coffee experience in Jose Karlos never gets old... Memories of friendship and shared experiences and ideas over coffee on this place are treasured with this place. The coffee and place is still one of the best in town amidst growing competition of new and young shops...

Former house turned coffee shop. Has great character and dim lighting. Good for meetings or dates. Coffee and snacks are delightful, but I would recommend that HOT coffee be served in coffee mugs and not glass cups (suitable for cold coffee). So thankful I found this place. However it was disappointing to see people with their dirty feet on the furniture listening to videos without earphones. I hope management increases their prices to prevent these type of people from ruining the wonderful atmosphere. Also, I know it’s Christmas, but why is it necessary to play the same songs over and over and over and over again? It honestly takes away from the experience...

I had lunch today there with my mother. The place is great and the food were the delicious. However, there was a little problem with a staff when I ordered dessert. I asked for a carrot cake and 2 cashew tarts. I did get my cake, but then they got me two sansrival. I (politely) said that I asked for cashew tarts, but the lady got all defensive, even went to the back to ask the other staff there, and I didn't like her tone on how she talked to me. From there, I just decided to just let it go to not make the situation out of hand over a dessert. I don't mind the mistake/misunderstanding, but had she not talked to me that way, (and apologize that she heard it wrong) I would have let it slide and not write a review. I just feel that they have to be aware and mindful next time it happens to another paying customer. Sorry, it got to this and thank you for your understanding.

Ordered simple brewed coffee (just okay, no cold drinks that day since there was no ice delivery), biscuits were a bit stale, but prices are decent. What really made us stay was the ambiance... so homey with a vintage aesthetic. Heard from a local this is one of the OG coffee spots in Tacloban, definitely worth a visit if you’re traveling here

This is a very comfy and casual, kind of older world coffee shop and restaurant. The vibe is very nice. The food was tasty.
